A kind of Oxford for supernatural scholars ({{Watcher}}s). The Watcher's Council has existed for as long as there has been a {{Slayer}}, and have charged themselves with the task of guiding the {{ChosenOne}}. In addition to its supervisory and scholarly roles, the Coucil is assumed to wield respectable political power and possesses a number of {{Weapons}} at its disposal. They are also known to monitor the {{PotentialSlayer}}s around the world.
The Council and most of its members were destroyed by TheFirstEvil and its minions in BtvsSeasonSeven, but there is evidence to suggest that it has regrouped and is rebuilding. Considering the amount of {{Slayer}}s in the world now, they are desperately needed.
In AtSSeasonFive episode "{{Damage}}", some information is given as to the status of the Watcher's Council. RupertGiles, along with the help of many of the {{PotentialSlayer}}s from BtvsSeasonSeven and from around the world are attempting to rebuild the Council. Also, it is known that AndrewWells is a new {{Watcher}} in training, and assumedly, there are many others.
