The leader of the OrderOfAurelius? which is a group of chaos worshipping {{Vampire}}s. The Master was trapped inside the portal to the {{Hellmouth}} early in the twentieth century. BtvsSeasonOne is basically about his attempt at ascension and BuffySummers' thwarting his plans for global armaggeddon.

  • The Master {{Sired}} {{Darla}}, and is therefore also the {{Sire}} of {{Angelus}}, {{Drusilla}} and {{Spike}}. They're all one big happy family.
  • The Master was killed by Buffy in ProphecyGirl, the finale of BtvsSeasonOne.
  • His followers among the order, with the leadership of TheAnointedOne, attempted to resurrect The Master's bones. They needed the four people closest to TheMaster at the time of his death. Those four people were JennyCalendar, WillowRosenberg, RupertGiles and CordeliaChase. During a ceremony, they planned to drain the bodies of these four people, and pour that blood over the bones of The Master. It was believed that this would ressurect him.
  • Buffy pulverized The Master's bones into powder in the BtvsSeasonTwo episode WhenSheWasBad. This makes accomplishing that task much more difficult.
  • Reappeared in the BtvsSeasonThree episode TheWish?. In the alternative WishVerse, BuffySummers never came to {{Sunnydale}}, allowing The Master to escape from the {{Hellmouth}} and turn the town into his {{Vampire}} playground.
  • Made a brief appearance as an incarnation of TheFirstEvil in the BtvsSeasonSeven premiere episode {{Lessons}}.

It is vaguely plausible that if TheAnointedOne - before he got smoked by Spike in SchoolHard - managed to sweep up enough of TheMaster's bone powder and collect it in some sort of receptacle, then followers of the OrderofAurelius? - if there were any left - could attempt to get the bodies of Cordelia, Giles and Willow and pour their blood over the remains of The Master. However, Ms. Calendar is very irrevocably dead, post neck snapping by {{Angel}} when he was the soulless vampire {{Angelus}}. So, the Order would need to replace Jenny with Angel in this scenario. Again, very implausible, but not wholly improbable. This would in theory bring back at least a grostesque resemblance of TheMaster.
