Buffy's grade school crush, Billy "Ford" Fordham, shows up at SunnydaleHS. Turns out he's known about Buffy's secret life as a vampire slayer for some time. What Buffy doesn't know is he's worked up this elaborate plan with some friends to be immortalized as vampires, and in order to get Spike on board his crazy deathwish scheme, Ford promises the slayer killer that he will deliver Buffy to him on a platter. However, Buffy turns the tables by holding Drusilla hostage, and Buffy traps Ford and Spike together in the trap they had set for her.

Stuff We Learned

  • We are introduced to Chantarelle, who later became AnneSteele, an irregular character featured both on the Buffy Series and Angel's spinoff.
  • Willow officially invites Angel into her bedroom. This becomes an issue later in the season when Angel turns into {{Angelus}}.
  • Giles is not a convincing liar.

Air Quotes With Fingers

  • FORD: "Oh. I thought you were just slaying a vampire."
  • XANDER: "Angel was in your bedroom?" WILLOW: "Ours is a forbidden love."
  • GILES: "Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after." BUFFY: "Liar."
