Jonathan Levinson is a curious irregular character in the tv series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Known as the kid who was often taken hostage or threatened by the more popular students in early seasons, Jonathan evolved into a sympathetic underdog and later into a somewhat more sinister member of TheTrio?. Jonathan is played by the formidable and talented DannyStrong.

- Planned to kill himself in the clock tower of SunnydaleHS in {{Earshot}}, saved by BuffySummers.
- Presented BuffySummers with her 'Class Protector' award at the prom.
- Cast a spell in BtvsSeasonFour which made him the coolest guy in {{Sunnydale}} and an international superstar, as well as a member of the ScoobyGang.
- Became a member of TheTrio? in BtvsSeasonSix.
- Escaped to Mexico with AndrewWells after the death of Warren.
- Killed by AndrewWells in the basement of SunnydaleHS; his blood was drained into the SealofDanzalthar? but, because he was anaemic, wouldn't open it.
- Buried by RobinWood in a shallow, unmarked grave.
- A favorite character of writer JaneEspenson.

- UnairedPilot?: When Buffy briefly gets in line to enter TheBronze, just before XanderHarris approaches, Jonathan turns around in line and asks Buffy if she's the new girl.
- IncaMummyGirl: Season Two Episode Four - At The Bronze, Ampata puts the moves on Jonathan thinking she can kill him to stay alive so that she won't have to sacrifice Xander. Needless to say Jonathan doesn't become a mummy snack.
- GoFish?: Season Two Episode Twenty - Jonathan is bullied by members of the swim team, and later admits to passive aggressive vengeance by secretly peeing in their pool.
- DeadMansParty?: Season Three Episode Two - Jonathan sorta invites himself to Buffy's welcome home party. He's the guy by the dip when Buffy and her friends put a damper on the evening.
- {{Earshot}}: Season Three Episode Eighteen - He's one of the many voices temporarily telepathic BuffySummers hears in her head that slowly drives her crazy, and then when she gets all better she finds him up in the belltower of the high school, contemplating suicide.
- TheProm?: Season Three Episode Twenty - Jonathan's the guy who presents Buffy with a glittery parasol award as ClassProtector?. The parasol is later destroyed by a vampire in the fourth season episode "The Freshman."
- Superstar: Season Four Episode Seventeen - For one episode, Jonathan is the coolest person on the planet, as a magic spell he enacts alters reality so much that Buffy takes a back seat to Jonathan's greatness.
- Flooded: Season Six Episode Four - Jonathan becomes one third of a diabolical team of wannabe evil mastermind super villians bent on global domination, supreme power and getting laid. However even this early on we learn Jonathan's heart just isn't in it, cuz he doesn't want to kill Buffy. Yeah, she saved my life a bunch of times! Plus, she's hot.
- LifeSerial?: Season Six Episode Five - The Triad compete to see who can encumber Buffy with mischief the most.
- {{Smashed}}: Season Six Episode Nine - Spike demands the Triad inspect his chip to see if it's malfunctioned.
- {{Gone}}: Season Six Episode Eleven - The Triad accidently turn Buffy invisible and Jonathan gets paranoid about it.
- DeadThings?: Season Six Episode Thirteen - This is about where Jonathan really begins to break from the others in principle if not literally, because while practicing with a magic spell that can turn any female into their love slave, Warren kills his ex-girlfriend and Jonathan's guilt over being an accessory to murder begins to weigh heavily. However, he remains in the threesome because he doesn't trust his comrades, and fears they'd try to kill him if he squealed.
- NormalAgain?: Season Six Episode Seventeen - Due to a demon the Triad sic's on Buffy, she goes insane and questions her perception of reality. Meanwhile, Jonathan observes more evidence that Warren and Andrew are keeping him out of the loop on stuff, thus increasing his paranoia.
- {{Entropy}}: Season Six Episode Eighteen - Jonathan starts looking in vain for a way out of the threesome, as Andrew and Warren further question whether or not Jonathan has become expendable baggage.
- SeeingRed?: Season Six Episode Nineteen - Jonathan's coerced into wearing the demon skin to get TheOrbsOfNezzlakhan?, then later realizes Warren and Andrew were going to leave Jonathan behind to get caught by the police.
- {{Villians}}: Season Six Episode Twenty - Both Andrew and Jonathan are revealed to be trapped in jail.
- TwoToGo?: Season Six Episode Twenty-One - After Warren murders Tara, Willow goes on a dark rampage, to kill Jonathan and Andrew next. Buffy, Xander and Dawn fight to protect them.
- ConversationsWithDeadPeople: Season Seven Episode Seven - Jonathan is murdered at the hands of Andrew, with a ghostly First Evil dressed like Warren standing idly by.
- NeverLeaveMe?: Season Seven Episode Nine - TheFirstEvil makes an appearance as Jonathan.
