The character Durran Haymer appeared in the Firefly episode named {{Trash}} and had been betrothed to Saffron five years before. He lived on Bellerophon where he kept some of his most prized possessions. He was one of the largest collectors of EarthThatWas? stuff, owning warehouses of the stuff. Saffron and the crew of Serenity worked together temporarily for the sole purpose of stealing a priceless artifact from Durran Haymer. It was called The Lassiter and was the first laser pistol. During the war, Haymer worked for The Alliance as a bioweapons specialist.
